Philips Respironics BIPAP AVAPS
AVAPS stands for Average Volume Assured Pressure Support. Aligned with the platform of Philip’s System One sleep therapy technology, the Philips Respironics BiPAP AVAPS Non-Invasive ventilator provides the comfort of pressure ventilation and the consistent efficacy of assured tidal volume. AVAPS is a support function that can be activated within S, S/T, PC, and T pressure modes. It automatically adapts pressure support to patient needs to guarantee an average tidal volume.
Based on Respironics digital auto-track sensitivity algorithm performance, BIPAP AVAPS estimates the patient's tidal sound with each breath and compares it with the target tidal sound. If necessary, the algorithm slowly increases or decreases inspiratory pressure for each breath (0.5 to 1 cm H2O/min) in order to achieve the preset tidal sound.
